Favourites: My favorite plants are my Monstera deliciosa, Sansevieria samurai, and Tillandsia xerographica. They’re all unique in their own respect, low maintenance, and visually appealing.

Paul says:

My first plant was a golden pothos that I’ve had for 5+ years, part of which I’m propagating now. I can’t believe how my urban jungle how grown since then.

In addition to caring for my own plants, I also do plant consulting on the side in New York. It’s a lot of fun helping other people become new plant parents or just adding to their collection in a simple and stylistic way.

Paul’s tips:

I try to be pretty consistent with my watering schedule for my air plants, but for my others, it’s good to check the soil first. Don’t be afraid to finger the soil; helps aerate the soil and test whether they’re actually thirsty. I like to keep my sun-loving plants closest to my windows and my low light plants farther away.

Plants, like us, love attention! Your plant will be that much more healthy and vibrant when you water and clean its leaves! I recommend it about once a month or when dust visibly accumulates on the leaves. Why? The plant isn’t able to effectively exchange carbon dioxide and photosynthesise.
