Favourites: The majority of my 85 plant-children were adopted into the family via clippings from friends or by me saving a plant left on someones stoop. While many of those plants are not the most visually ‘unique’ or ‘original’, they all have a ‘unique’ story beyond the foliage that is special to me – plus they were ZERO DOLLARS! Those are my favorite plants – Pam, Carolyn, Giancarla, Irena – the ones that tell a story. And are literally priceless!

Justin says:

I talk to my plants & check in with them daily as part of my own morning routine. I listen to their needs and move them if they are telling me they need more light, water them when their soil is dry & crank the humidifiers if the air needs to be more… moist. It’s a game of trial and error that get’s easier as I fail and succeed.

Justin’s tips:

Be honest about your environment and ability to care for your plants before bringing them into your space. Your plant wants to be in an environment where it can thrive, the same as you do. Does your home offer the right conditions for that beautiful plant at the nursery to keep thriving? Or will your dark space kill her vibe?
