As soon as I get home, my plants are the first thing I check before taking off my uniform (and the cats of course, but they usually come to the door when they hear me in the hall). Are all the plants fine? That’s my first question. When I’m back in my own clothes, I check if there is any parasite and if they need any water.
One tip I have: don’t forget the hygrometry side of the room where the plants are. Especially in the north and at winter time, we use the heater a lot which makes the air dry and tropical plants don’t like it. So as much I possible I spray water on them. This is a temporary method until I find the perfect humidifier.
